Missy

Lukin

Missy Lukin, was born in Mesa, AZ and started playing the violin at age 4.  Lukin attended Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, studying with Kathleen Winkler.  Her post-graduate work was at The Cleveland Institute of Music, under the tutelage of Cleveland Orchestra Concertmaster, William Preucil.  Since then, Lukin has performed with multiple orchestras across the country, including the San Antonio Symphony, the Dallas Symphony, Opera Pacific Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony, the San Diego Symphony, the Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra, and the Sun Valley Summer Symphony.  In November 2013, she went on tour with the Cleveland Orchestra to New York and throughout Europe, a highlight of which was performing in Vienna’s revered Musikverein.  Lukin currently performs regularly as a substitute violinist with the San Diego Symphony, and is a busy freelance violinist around the San Diego Area. She has also served as concertmaster for the California Chamber Orchestra.    Lukin resides in Carlsbad with her husband and two children, and is an avid tennis player.
